So the other day I came across an open directory of like 1800+ songs. Mainly it was rap with a few other things in there. I went ahead and DL’d all of them and for the past week I’ve been listening to a plethora of new rap as background music at work. There are a few really good songs in there that get me pumped up. There are a few that are just lame, and then there’s this one:
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
I was sitting there and then started hearing Sarah Palin talk about “laying pipe” and this guy rapping about it. It was one of the funniest songs I’ve heard. I reckon there isn’t much people won’t sing/rap about these days. It’s not the most bizzare rap song I’ve heard, but it certainly was one of the more entertaining.
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I’d know better.. better…
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I’d know better.. better…
The hardest part, this troubled heart has never yet been through now,
To heal the scars that got their start inside someone like you now,
But had I known or I’d been shown back when I longed you’d take me,
To break the charge that brought me home…
that, all but would erase me
I never would not thought I could
No matter what you’d pay me
replay the part
You stole my heart
I should have known you’re crazy
If all I knew was that with you
I’d want someone to save me
It’d be enough,
But just my luck
I fell in love and baby…
All that I wanted was…
Now I know you better
You know I know better
Now I know you better!
So bittersweet, this tragedy wont ask for absolution,
This melody inside of me, still searches for solution,
A twist of fate, the change of heart kills my infatuation,
A broken heart provides the spark for my determination.
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I’d know better, better…
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I’d know better, better…
All that I wanted, was…
I know ,you know, you know better,You know, I know ,you know better,
Now you know me better
I never wanted you to be so full of anger
I never wanted you to be somebody else
I never wanted you to be someone afraid to know themselves
I only wanted you to see things for yourself
All that I wanted, was…
Now I know you better
Yeah we all know better
All that I wanted was…
I know better
I know better
I know better
I know better
If I were you, I’d manage to abhor the invitation
Of promised love that can’t keep up with your adoration
Just use your head, and in the end you’ll find your inspiration
To choose your steps and won’t regret this kind of aggravation
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I’d know better.. better…
No one ever told me when I was alone
They just thought I’d know better.. better…
How is it possible that these are the lyrics to a song on the new GnR album and it’s one of the more rocking of the songs?! I mean I want some Paradise City or some Welcome to the Jungle. After like 15 years of waiting you think they could put something better together. Either way, I’m still all about some Guns N’ Roses, though at this point is more or less just the Roses part. Sadly Slash is not part of the “band” any more. Now it’s more like Axl and the Roses or some mess. Oh well, I’m warming up to the rest of the album. Lemme know what you think.
Halloween editon!
Bryan I’m taking at least 1 from your site…maybe more.
We’ll get things started with yet another Kanye West music video:

This video rocks my face off. Zach Galifianakis’ beard is epic. He’s done other videos in the past:

One of my favs from a while back.
Another Brayn posted first:

Too funny to not pass on.
Moving on…
Most epic pumpkin carving video ever made:

Nothing says Halloween like Busta Rhymes:

Here’s my video from Monster Plantations from a few weeks ago:

With the election next week I’m encouraging everyone:
And finally, the most epic song ever made …ever. This song will save humanity.
So tonight whilst perusing through friends bloggins and such I came across one where a friend posted a video that was pretty much the most bad ass thing ever. So I will now do my part to spread the word. So now for your listening and watching pleasure:

Personally I liked this one better:

But they still rock my face off so I went ahead and picked up his CD. Not much else to say. Dude is simply amazing.
Thank you petitlemans for posting amazingness, and thank you Ronald Jenkees being being awesomesauce!
I’m pretty sure this is one of the funniest things since the grape stomp lady (see below):
This movie can’t come out quick enough!

Yes please!!!!!
I’m really digging the Nightmare Revisited soundtrack so here’s Amy Lee performing Sally’s Song:
Here’s another few songs from the album:
Rise Against: Making Christmas – Nightmare Revisited
The Polyphonic Spree: Town Meeting Song – Nightmare Revisited
And now for some video that I captured over the past week.
Rise Against @ The Tabernacle
Survive:
It’s better in the high quality version, but you have to go to YouTube to watch that.
At Six Flags
Front row on Batman:

(God I love the sound this coaster makes)
It’s been a fairly good week for videos. So with out hesitation I’ll get things started with what is quite possibly the greatest video to be submitted to the internet.
It’s so COOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLD in the D!

How the fuck do we posed to keep peace?

SCIENCE!!!!!!

These guys are so hella. They are like Bill Nye, Mr. Wizard, Beakman, and Mick Jagger rolled up into one (or in this case two.)
MUTHA TRUCKAS!!

Not to be confused with

Still, I thought the awesomeness and out of control craziness of this was too good to pass up.
History of the Minifig

The time it must’ve taken to put this together is crazy. But it was well worth it. Great piece. Makes me want to buy Lego’s now.
One more video for Busta to be in

I like me some Gym Class Heroes and thought this was pretty fun song/video.
“Gas prices are to muther fuckin’ high”

It’s officially serious now. Now we have proof that gas prices are too high. When Did’s (my new name for Diddy cause Diddy was too long still) has to fly commercial it’s time to do something. So like him, I’m sending a shout out to all my Saudi Arabian brothers and sisters to send me some oil. Oh, I wonder if he just bought out the whole commercial flight. Wouldn’t that negate the ‘flying commercial’ experience?
That’s all I had for this week. Don’t forget to send me anything you find interesting. I’ll post it on here and make a somewhat funny comment about it. For every video you send me, I’ll donate $.01 to gas prices.
Edit: To all you LJ readers, I’m sorry for the formatting, video’s posted on the bloggin’s don’t carry over properly.
Well, it’s that time again and I believe I have a good sampling of video’s this week.
Bert & Ernie:

I seriously can’t stop watching this. Shamus sent it to me over the weekend and I’ve been hanging on to it ever since.
Busta Rhymes – We’ve Made It:

Rick introduced me to this song last week and it grew on me.
Homage to the Rabbits:

Season finale of SYTYCD this was featured. I really like everything about it, just a great piece.
Lykke Li – Lykke Li:

Maggie posted about listening to Lykke the other day so I decided to check it out. Great video, great song, and she’s teh hottness!
Kanye West – Champion:

With all the olympics hoopla going on I thought this was pretty good. That and I like Kanye, well, I like his music.
The Archive:

One of the saddest stories ever. This is just sad, and awe inspiring. If I had the money, I’d buy this.
WotLK Intro:

The World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Litch King intro was relased as soon as people started getting beta invites. I’ve reactivated my account, but really only played like twice. Either way, I usually like the Blizzard videos.
That’s all the videos for this week. If you have any others that you thought were great, send’em my way and I’ll throw it on here.
After initially seeing the previews and write ups for Pineapple Express I was not too interested. My initial reaction was “man, how many more of these movies can they make?!” Well, tonight I got my answer. They can make as many as they want!

A few weeks back I posted my review of The Dark Knight. At the time I had only seen the movie once. Shortly after we were given the opportunity to see Mama Mia! at work. Quickly everyone jumped on the “that’s a terrible idea bandwagon” and it got switched to The Dark Knight. I wasn’t about to miss an opportunity to get out of work and see the movie again. However, I have to say, that seeing it a second time did not make it better. Infact I’d say that it may have been too soon to see it again.
I noticed that there is a LOT of dialogue. Maybe too much. There were points where it was just talk, talk, talk, talk…………talk. I wanted to see more action, more Batman, more, Joker, more of those big IMAXy shots, more! There was so much talking in fact that I fell asleep, TWICE! Once just before the dead fake Batman comes flying into the window hanging by a noose (which scared the shit out of me and I jumped quite a bit). The other was near the one of the first endings of the movie. I don’t recall exactly, but oh well.
Oh, another thing that kinda irked me was when Christian Bale was Batman and talking to someone he went a little too deep/dark with the voice. I mean, he did it in the first one, and then over did it in this one. I could have stood to have him tone back just a smidge.
So yeah. It was about 30 minutes too long, Christian Bale was a bit to scruffly voiced, and the dialoge was draining. I think maybe another viewing in several months might be good, but not before then.
