i totally need to see this movie. it’s gonna be the “feel good” movie of the year.

if i had an alternative source of income i would have quit today. today, my boss is an ass.

ok so i had to post about this. last night maggie and i invited my mom over to watch survivor. well, we usually have a beer or 9 while we watch tv and have dinner and i don’t usually (and haven’t really ever) drink around my mom. well i get my beer out and my mom said “where’s my beer?” in my entire life i’ve only known my mom to have at most 3 drinks…1) some family party in florida when i was like 13 (she had a glass of wine) 2) new years (champagne) and 3) just because i’m sure she’s had more at some point.

well, she didn’t like the beer we had and i needed to go to the store anyway, so i come back with some bud light and sure enough my mom wanted one. we busted out the frosty mugs and poured her half a glass and she managed to finish it. that was all she wanted, but my mom had beer.

what’s this world coming too.

on a side note to that, my cousin is getting married tomorrow and there is an OPEN BAR. and the place they are having the wedding at is like 5 minutes from my house….OPEN BAR! it’s going to be a great weekend.

Ok, it’s totally been way too long since I’ve posted. Things have been all over the map. I have pictures that I need to put up but they are at the house and I am at work. I’ll get them tonight. I’ve been keeping up with everyone on my friends list…those that have found someone special to be with; I’m totally stoked and happy for you. It seems there’s a bug going around causing people to be happy…good stuff. People are moving out and up and that’s a good thing. I figured that rather than reply to people’s posts, which I’ve really been slacking about I would give a general reply.

Ok, now on to other stuff. Exhibit A) I was tasked with creating a then termed “Leadership Training Program” for one of the departments here at work. I was told that all the participants in the program would be submitting their own logo along with mine and they would vote on the one they liked the best. I was also told that it was gonna be ‘rigged’ somehow so that my logo would get picked.

I set off on this task with much enthusiasm. I made a few logos and turned them in. I received no feedback for about a week. Then the person that I turned them in to comes to me and says “We are changing the name to ‘2005 ATC Sales Leadership’ and we need a new logo created in 2 days” WTFMAN! That’s not cool. But I sucked it up, worked at home and came up with 3 more logos meeting all their stupid requirements “Can we have a ladder or something to that effect?” Sure, I’ll make one with a ladder or something. Ok, so gave them the new batch of logos and waited. Still, no feedback. Then here comes the lady again, with a completely different idea AGAIN! They want something that can be used as a pin for a shirt or something. “OK” I say and suck it up again and make their stupid logo, this time I went all out and actually made a mock up of how the pin would look. Gold styles, embossing, correct shading, etc. It looked pretty good (or at least I thought it did). Well yesterday here she comes with “the good news.”

As it turns out my logo wasn’t selected. She shows me the one that was and I about crapped (nice poo reference for ya) my pants. So I give you now all the logos that I worked on. Keep in mind that these were all done at 300dpi so they could be manipulated into pretty much any media. I’ll let you be the judge of

So there you have it. Number 11 was the one that they picked. I did not create number 11 I did the rest of them. I gave a wide variety of choices, ranging from a 70’s style cheesy generic training logo, to a very polished technical logo. But no, my job as Creative Coordinator really doesn’t mean anything I guess.

In other news I’ll be setting up a pay-pal account for donations to the Jones’ and I’m also going to sell all of my Simpsons and Muppets action figures to raise money for them. That’s about 200 action figures MIMB. We’ll see how well that goes.
