Tonight I was treated to an evening out with Kit and Russ at Graveyard. The plan was to pick Kit up from work, head to Russ’ (is that the correct punctuation for the possessive of Russ?) place to get a flashlight then head to Kit’s potential new house. We got to the house and it was amazing! I mean, dizam, this house kept going for days. There was a basement that had stairs rather than a crawl space. There was an attic that had stairs so you could just walk on up. The master bedroom was about the size of Kit’s current house and it was just plain amazing. There was a total of like 3.5 bedrooms 2 bathrooms a living room, dining room, kitchen, huge ass deck and nice back yard. The house was hella cheap for being in town and that big, so we’ll see. Maybe she’ll get it, I’ll sell my house, and then I’ll move in as her awesome chef room mate.
After that we headed over to Graveyard and just hung out and got some food (fried pickles FTW). We chatted, drang and just chilled until the dancing started. All the while the waitress kept stopping by to eat the banana runts that Kit brought. What can I say, she loved the banana. Anyway, I got out there and leared a few steps and then the real dancing started and I sorta danced a few times. I had a blast and totally want to go back. I’ll need to brush up on my dancing. By “brush up” I mean learn completely, but you get the point.
So yeah, hung out until about 11:30, then headed home. It was a good night and I’m really glad I got to go out and have a good time. I’m looking forward to coming home tomorrow after work and just chilling. I’ve got some left overs I need to eat and tomorrow is the perfect day. Then again, at the rate I’m going, I may end up with plans to be out in Decatur tomorrow….some how.

I was thinking of heading in town for the Decatur Book Festival this weekend. They’ve got cooking demo’s and other stuff that sounds pretty cool. Anyone else interested? If so lemme know and we can team up so the parking won’t be so bad. That and I can think of a few people that need MORE books. :P

While trying to pass the time in a meeting today Gretchen casually asked “hey, what’chu got goin’ on tonight?” I was like, “after I get my hair did, I got nothin. Got something in mind?” Well she informed me that there was going to be a show featured men dressed in drag performing 2 full episodes of THE GOLDEN GIRLS!!! This of course was for charity. Having nothing else planned and since I was going to be out that way I figured what the hey.
Let met just say that the show did not dissapoint. Man, those guys really did put on a show and it was funny to the max. They had the mannerisms down to a T. The audice was full of all sorts of folks and they were lovin’ it. I got to meet a few of the people after and they were really cool.
After the show Gretchen, her friend Hein and I went to Brick Store in Decatur where it was back to the brim, so we decided to walk over to Birdies where there was no one and the drinks were on the quick. Service was mediocre, but the fact that there were only like 4 people in there when we got there was pretty cool. We could actually hear each other talk and we had a good time. It was nice to just get out and chat and have a drink or two and laugh.
Tomorrow night is both trivia and swing dancing. Should be a blast. I just hopt I can keep up. I guess it’s a good thing I’m off Friday (off = working from home), otherwise I’d be tired like a mug. Speaking of that, I should probably go to bed.

So tonight may have been the kick-off of Monday night dinners. Matt and Ashley came over and I made some kick ass pasta with homemade sauce. Best I’ve had in a while.
We sat around, chatted, watch Deal or No Deal then America’s Toughest Jobs. There wasn’t a ton of festivities, but damn if I didn’t have a good time. Good food, good friends, good time. It’s good to feel that again and it was mighty good to cook for people again. That passion hasn’t died, it’s just kinda sitting there waiting until the house is sold.
So if anyone wants in on Monday night dinners let me know, we can get something started. Basically it’s just a matter of showing up at a designated house, cooking food and having a good time. Not expectations other than being happy.
Thanks Mashley for driving out to P. Town!
Menu:
Linguine with Chicken Ragu

I live in the middle of nowhere. Everyone else lives on the edge of something. Despite these two facts, I’d still like to have some people over this Sunday (not Labor day) for some hanging out. As of right this moment the weather looks ify. By ify I mean that rain is in the forecast but it’s Georgia so that could change any day.
Bases on feedback received I’ll post as to whether or not the thing is still on or not. Same deal as previous plans that didn’t happen. Show up at sometime between noon and 3ish, hang out, have beer or water, or wine, or liquor, or whatever, play cards, eat food, laugh, enjoy yourself and admire how the air out in Nowheresville is just a little bit sweeter and the stars are just a tad brighter.
Let me know by Wednesday (of this week) if your interested.
So I signed up for MySpace…again. Some people still use it for what ever reason and I figure since they aren’t jumping ship to Facebook just yet I’d get back on the MS. So if we were friends before, if we’ve never been friends, if you want to be a friend with me but are a little unsure, shoot me an email and I’ll take a look into that.
Got up today somewhat feeling the effects of last night, but still mobile. Knees and palms hurt from the massive wipeout in the parking lot, but I’ll survive. The weather is perfect and totally my kind of morning. Overcast/rainy with a good breaze and not hot or cold. I got the windows open and the fan on. Things are just kinda chill.
So I had my coffe and oatmeal, and started to tackle my bills before getting the house ready for the open house at 2pm. However it seems that every finincial institute or web billing service or any place that actually wants my money it ‘temporarily unavailable’ or down for maintenance. What kind of bullshit is that?! I mean….I just want to give them my money. Can’t they do this sort of thing at night when people aren’t using their computers? I reckon they’ll just have to get my money later today.
So yeah, the house is coming along nicely. After a fair amount of repair work, pro carpet cleaning, furniture relocation, moving of pictures/decor, and general tidiness I’m happy to report that this house looks about as good as it’s going to look. There’s not much more I can do other than just keep the damn thing clean. I still don’t like living here, but that’ll change soon…I can feel it.
Tonight is the closing ceremonies for the Olympics and if I play my cards right I’ll be on the other side of town watching them, if not then I’ll catch them here.
Edit: Original, plus alternative plans don’t look like they’re going to happen. Looks like its on to plan J.

Still rockin this mug. Most awesome night in a while. Danced my ass off and busted my ass on the way out. Now I’m bleeding in a napkin from the Waffle House tapped to my leg. Maybe I should dress it a bit better. Oh well I’ll live. Tomorrow I’ll reasses the situation.
Bottom line is that I had a blast tonight and met up with some people that I’ve not seen in way too long.
Valerie wet my pants and that was just the start of things. ;)
I’ll post a recap tomorrow. There’s still way more to accomplish this evening.
1:30 am and I’m dancing like a mug!
Well, it’s that time again and I believe I have a good sampling of video’s this week.
Bert & Ernie:
I seriously can’t stop watching this. Shamus sent it to me over the weekend and I’ve been hanging on to it ever since.
Busta Rhymes - We’ve Made It:
Rick introduced me to this song last week and it grew on me.
Homage to the Rabbits:
Season finale of SYTYCD this was featured. I really like everything about it, just a great piece.
Lykke Li - Lykke Li:
Maggie posted about listening to Lykke the other day so I decided to check it out. Great video, great song, and she’s teh hottness!
Kanye West - Champion:
With all the olympics hoopla going on I thought this was pretty good. That and I like Kanye, well, I like his music.
The Archive:
One of the saddest stories ever. This is just sad, and awe inspiring. If I had the money, I’d buy this.
WotLK Intro:
The World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Litch King intro was relased as soon as people started getting beta invites. I’ve reactivated my account, but really only played like twice. Either way, I usually like the Blizzard videos.
That’s all the videos for this week. If you have any others that you thought were great, send’em my way and I’ll throw it on here.
